Polecam HD

• Polecam HD. Toshiba's IK-HD1 HD 3CCD Colour Camera System gives you the sharpest, clearest, true colour imagery available from the most compact HD camera on the market.

• Mounted on a 6 metre jib arm with a precision remote pan and tilt head, the polecam can be operated at a length between 1.5 and 6 metres which gives it the flexibility of going where larger camera crane systems can't go. 

• The size of the camera adds to this flexibility and also makes the system very unobtrusive.

• Each section of the polecam is constructed from carbon fibre which makes it lightweight and man-portable. Set-up time and relocation time is minimal. 

• Polecam can be tripod or harness mounted giving you even more flexibility. The harness allows you to move about quickly and to set up in areas where tripods are forbidden. For example it is the only camera crane licensed for use in formula one pit lanes. You can even  shoot from the back of a boat or a jeep. On the tripod the polecam can also be used on a dolly and tracking system.

• Polecam is compatible in a multi-camera OB environment and can be used with the Polecam remote control panel enabling control over the camera and iris settings. 

• Polecam can record to any video format, and my kit comes as standard with either an HD flashcard recorder or DSR-50 DVCAM deck. The camera's ccu has two HDSDI outputs but can be down-converted if an SD signal is required. Both recorders support XLR sound inputs.

• The polecam cradle can now accommodate 2 cameras so easily and cost effectively supports 3D filming.

• Additional extras to use with the polecam include a dive bag enabling you to shoot just beneath the surface of the water. Move from under the water to a high angle shot above the water in one movement.

• Polecam is excellent for raising production values at a low cost and is ideal for sport, documentary, life-style, drama, music promos, corporate, live events etc.

What format does polecam record to? Polecam can record to any format.

How much space do you need? The operating length is from 1.5 to 6 metres so polecam can be used almost anywhere from a lounge to a large studio or factory.

Can polecam be used as part of a multi-camera OB? The polecam remote control panel can be used with the kit which gives you remote control over the camera settings and iris.

Does it go under water? You can use polecam with a dive bag or with a fully submersible camera head.
